| Notes: | In the 1900 U.S. Census, Ella gave both parents' place of birth as Maryland. In 1910, she claimed her father was in fact born in Ohio. On April 23, 1931, Ella was admitted to the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She had thyroid problems, as well as heart problems. She spent her fifty-ninth birthday in the hospital. On May 7th, she underwent a thyroidectomy -- she died the next day, at 5am. |
